In an industrial suburb, two factories face each other. A former paper mill, recently closed, is undergoing a rehabilitation project: graphic designers, designers and illustrators are moving into the former factory and ensuring the transition of the paper industry to the digital age.
Across the street, an aluminum forge is threatening to close its doors, a shaky incarnation of an old industrial world in agony. In a final outburst, the employees manage to save their company through a cooperative takeover. In this uncertain territory, what does the future hold? Through these two different worlds, After work makes the portrait of a workers’ city in the midst of change.
